Sadiq Al-Katib (**WIP**)

Personality

Sadiq is a very standoffish and reserved man. He has a tendency to be very irritable and quick to anger. He has always been perceived as odd and different due to his mannerisms and demeanor, and grew up with others heavily avoiding him. On the occasion he was being outright bullied, he was good at standing up for himself and talking back when it did happen, and to this day is a good advocate for his wants and needs. Though outside of this, he is not great with words or being eloquent, as he is quite blunt and short with his words and tone. Despite having gained more social experience when he was older, he remains apathetic about making new connections.

Background

Sadiq grew up in a pretty financially unstable family consisting of his parents, him, and a younger sister - all of whom he was relatively close with. He often wore old hand-me-downs from his older cousins, and didn't have too many toys. Despite being content with what he did have, this paired with his quiet and introverted nature made him stand out a lot. On top of that, he also tended to have odd mannerisms from a young age, such as having full on conversations with himself and having a fascination with darker themes, topics, and aesthetics. All of these things combined lead to him being ostracized by his peers. However, he never really cared about what other people thought or the fact that he was basically shunned by everyone but his family. Since he had a lot of alone time, he dabbled in a lot of creative pass times such as visual arts and writing, and he often tried out new creative hobbies. One day, his younger sister wanted him to do her makeup with some of their mother's old makeup that she had given the kids to play dress up with. Something about the art of makeup really caught his interest, so he kept doing it and practicing on himself and any family member that would let him. His skills grew rapidly, essentially becoming a prodigy. One day, Sadiq caught the attention of some modeling scouters when he went out with a makeup look on. When approached, the topic of his makeup came up with the scouts asking who did it, and when he said it was him, they wound up offering him a job to do a model's makeup for a photoshoot instead of a modeling job. He took this up, and the look he applied to the small up-and-coming model was so good, it made her popularity skyrocket as soon as the photoshoot was released. This caught the eye of many professionals, and he quickly became high in demand, eventually being scouted by Hope's Peak for his immense skill and notoriety in the industry.

• Ngozi Obiako: Ngozi met Sadiq in school prior to their time at Hope's Peak. When they were both 14, Ngozi was studying abroad in Egypt. Having noticed Sadiq didn't have a single friend as well as finding him interesting, Ngozi approached him. At first, Sadiq was distrustful, skeptical, and overall a big grump, but Ngozi was patient and didn't push any boundaries. They ended up becoming best friends and continued to be at Hope's Peak together, as well as after graduation and into the present day during the killing game


• Maxime Dubois: Maxime was an outcast his entire life, just like Sadiq. At the start of their time at Hope's Peak, Maxime took notice of Sadiq being socially isolated as well, and sort looked up to him at first since Sadiq simply didn't care, as opposed to Maxime who was very depressed and anxious because of it. Maxime quickly developed a queerplatonic crush on Sadiq, and often stole glances at him and fantasized about interacting with him. While Sadiq was clueless about this, Ngozi took notice of Maxime silently pining, and started befriending Maxime to help the situation and get the two outcasts to at least be friends. Ngozi consulted classmate Dulce, the Ultimate Matchmaker, and she confirmed the two as very compatible in both friendship and beyond that. Maxime and Sadiq bonded surprisingly quickly considering their introverted personalities and lack of social experience. Ngozi helped Maxime build the confidence to confess to Sadiq, and the two eventually became queerplatonic partners. After graduating, Sadiq moved in with Maxime in France. This is where the two resided until the killing game.
